The Santa Elena Sustainable Development project received a grant from the Merida International Women’s Club and thanks to these funds, the group is now the proud owner of an industrial sewing machine.
This strong “work horse” will allow the ladies to increase their productivity by quite a margin. They were so excited as were those of us who watched the scene unfold.
Our group received wonder ful service from the Singer Center “La Gran Puntada” Pedro Perez from the store in Merida drove the machine 100 kms to Santa Elena, installed it and showed Rosa and the other ladies how to use it.
Rosa shows everyone what a quick study she is!
The mayor of Santa Elena sent a representative and restaurant owner
Project leaders Abel and Rosa
