A hopeful future

This past weekend was a bittersweet one. We felt nostalgic as we commemorated the 10th anniversary of 9/11. But for our family Saturday and Sunday were also days of anticipation and celebration.

Our college has begun its 22nd year, and in Mexico, the beginning of any endeavor is occasion for a party. We rented a great venue… Music, dancing, swimming, tacos and beer! The students and staff all enjoyed themselves. We’re off and running.

It’s going to be a great year!

Catherine from Belgium has joined our staff this year.

The very next day: another party! This one at our home.

Our soon-to-be son in law turned 31 (a nice responsible age to be marrying our daughter, we think) Ricardo’s friends and parents joined us for bar-b-q, more music, more beer and lots of laughter.

Maggie, Ricardo and their pup, Nacho

Jorge and I feel full of enthusiasm and excitement for all that’s coming down the pike in the coming months.

Around so much youthful energy, how can we not be full of hope for the future? It’s like finding the fountain of youth…

  1. You are very blessed Joanna….and much of all your happiness is because you make it happen. You are the axle of your family, school and many friends!
    Continue to enjoy.

    • You’re really very kind Judy but I feel the happiness I enjoy is thanks to cooperation between Jorge, our children and myself… we’re on the same page most of the time, and when we’re not, we work at getting back there.
